CITP promotes FITTskills to WTCA

"WTC VERACRUZ catalogued as one of the 10 best Exhibition and Convention Centers in Mexico hosted the “2009 WTCA North America Regional Meeting” from February 15th to 18th, where conferences and strategy sessions oriented towards economic development of the North America Region faced by difficult economic times took place.

This encounter brought together approximately 50 delegates representing WTCs located in Mexico, the U.S.A. and Canada. This highly important delegation of the business sector was headed by Mr. Guy Tozzoli, President of the World Trade Centers Association and Mrs. Charlotte Gallogly, WTCA North America Regional Coordinator and President of WTC Miami.

The event officially began with inaugural speeches given by Lic. Fidel Herrera Beltran, Governor of the State of Veracruz and Lic. Felipe Ruiz Sosa, President of WTC Veracruz accompanied by municipal, state and federal authorities. They both gave a cordial welcome to all delegates of WTCs who came from Philadelphia, New York, Mountain South, Baltimore, Arkansas, Los Angeles – Long Beach, Washington, Denver, San Antonio, Palm Beach, Miami, Halifax, Valencia, Montevideo, Bogota, El Paso-Juarez, Culiacan, Guadalajara, Cancun, Monterrey, Morelos and Veracruz, as well as to the Veracruz business community that also attended this meeting.

Mr. Guy Tozzoli highlighted this ceremony by presenting Lic. Fidel Herrera Beltran, the Governor of the State, with the WTCA Quality Standards Certification to WTC Veracruz and at the same time, the Governor presented Mr. Guy Tozzoli with a Distinguished Visitor of the State of Veracruz Recognition.

It should also be pointed out that as part of the inaugural program, foreign, national and local participants had the opportunity to listen to conferences of great interest such as: “WTCs, Economic Development Catalysts” by Charlotte Gallogly of WTC Miami, “Business Tourism Hospitality and Cultural Exchange” by Nelson Pilosof of WTC Montevideo, “FITT, Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) Designation Program” by Michael Young of WTC Halifax, as well as “Doing Business with Mexico” by Luis Vite of PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS and “Support Programs for Exports and Foreign Investments” by Aldo Ruiz of PROMEXICO..."
