Call for FITT CITP/FIBP Board Nominations
|
Introduction
There are three openings, each for three year terms, on the FITT Board of Directors for Certified Members. This memo begins the nominating procedures to fulfill these vacancies as defined in the FITT by-laws under Article 7.7 as follows:
7.7 Certified Members (CITP/FIBPs*) will elect their representative(s) to the Board of Directors.
- Any one (1) Certified Member may nominate a Certified Member as a candidate to stand for election by mailing [mail, email, fax, or online submission] a nomination letter [form], signed by them and the candidate, to the Head Office of FITT. A statement of not more than two hundred words may be submitted by the candidate enclosed in the nomination letter, as per Article 7.5. [“…indicating their background, interest in international trade, and what contribution(s) they are able to make to the Board.”]
- The chief administrative officer will mail [email and post electronically] a ballot paper listing the names of all candidates for election accompanied by copies of statements received, and the names of the Certified Members nominating each candidate to all Certified Members.
- Certified Members may vote for only three of the candidates by returning their ballots by mail [mail, email, fax, or online submission].
- The candidate(s) receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected.
This call for Certified Member nominations to the FITT Board of Directors is to ensure the organization is governed with excellence, vision, and professionalism. Private sector members are encouraged to apply, and all nominees will be presented to the Certified Membership at large for voting in October 2010.
