Request For Proposal for a research consultant for the Phase 1 – International Trade Sector Study Pre-Assessment - PDF

Committed to providing the opportunities to develop the skills and knowledge, FITT is exploring the feasibility to conduct a human resources study of the international trade sector. This involves understanding the international trade sector in Canada in terms of its business composition, type of employers and cross sectoral nature and the current and emerging trends that will impact the sector’s labour market.  It also involves understanding the workforce in the international trade sector and the occupations, skills and competencies that make up this workforce. Finally identifying the body of knowledge and evidence that already exists about these issues and factors is necessary to determine the gaps and further research required to understand how best to respond to the current and emerging human resource challenges in international trade.  The attached RFP provides further information about the goals, research questions, deliverables and the RFP process.

The closing date for electronic submissions is 12h00 EDT August 6, 2010.  Note that we are requesting only electronic submissions. The proposal should be a maximum of 10 pages in length using a twelve-point font size, 1-inch margins and single spaced, exclusive of executive summary (optional), table of contents, and appendices.  A selection committee will assess the proposals and select the research consultant for the project. We are expecting to have a decision by August 27th.
