FITT Travels to Colombia
Forging new partnerships and training opportunities
July 1-7, 2012—Caroline Tompkins and Scott Ferris, FITT's President and Director of Business Development respectively, visited Colombia this past week to continue the development and expansion of the FITTskills program on an international level.
Caroline and Scott met with World Trade Centers Bogotá and Cali as well as the Universidad Sergio Arboleda and Universidad Icesi.
"Our meetings in Colombia were focused primarily around converging with World Trade Centers and Universities that can come together and partner on the delivery of the FITTskills courses," says Scott. "The level of positivity and enthusiasm expressed by all parties was very exciting and encouraging."
FITT's trip to Colombia was facilitated by Carlos Ronderos, President of Ronderos y Cardenas, and Magdelena Torres, his Administrative Manager.
The FITTskills learning materials are currently being translated into Spanish by Ronderos y Cardena, and the international trade training programs will start being offered in Bogotá in less than a month.
Initially set to target the Colombian business community, there are plans to embed the FITTskills programs into the curriculum of educational institutions across Colombia in the near future. FITT and Ronderos y Cardena are also working together to further extend FITT’s presence across Latin America.
Caroline and Scott had the opportunity to meet with local media outlet El Tiempo during their trip. This enabled them to spread international awareness about FITT, its trade training and its industry designations.
