Practical Experience

Applicants must have at least one year of international trade experience before applying for the CITP* designation (experience does not have to be consecutive).

Please attach a copy of your resume.

Please ensure your resume identifies your international trade roles and responsibilities in detail.

Sponsors

Two sponsors, who are familiar with your international trade experience, are required to attest to the accuracy of the information in this application and your one year of experience. Please keep in mind that FITT will be contacting the sponsors directly for verification of your work experience specific to international trade. Applications may not be processed if sponsors cannot verify information provided.

Additional sponsors may be required to verify the information supplied in the application form.

* Those not eligible to sponsor CITP* candidates include: immediate family members, extended family members involved in a family business or enterprise, professional designation committee members, employees of FITT and members of the FITT Board of Directors.

Sponsors:

Must be able to attest the candidate to a minimum of 1 year of international trade related experience
Should be representative of two different sources (e.g. different companies, departments, backgrounds)

Please ask your sponsors to email membership@fitt.ca confirming their knowledge of your international trade work experience and their support of your application. By doing so, sponsors are recommending the applicant be accepted by the FITT Certification and Accreditation Committee.
