Meet Our CITPs - O

John O’Reilly, CITP/FIBP

John has been a specialist in international trade for over 25 years.

 

As Director of Customs and Traffic for Toshiba of Canada Limited, he is responsible for the international supply chain. He is also the Executive Quality Leader for the 6 Sigma Management Innovation program and for the administration of the Export Control program.

 

John sets up the distribution processes at origin plants to ensure compliance with company and CBSA security guidelines and he and his group oversee the importing of product right through the in-house customs clearance program to delivery at one of 2 distribution centers and retail customers across Canada.

 

A Black Belt graduate and Champion of the 6 Sigma program, John is CCS, CITP and CITT certified. He was recently appointed Chair of the Board for the Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters (IE Canada).


Darren Ochosky, CITP

Mr. Ochosky is a partner and Vice President, Sales & Marketing in Hazloc Heaters Inc. a leading manufacturer of industrial heating products. Hazloc Heaters´ clients include the oil & gas industry, power generation industry, pulp and paper industry, steel industry, wastewater treatment and hazardous material storage industry. Mr. Ochosky also has previous experience in sales and marketing in the automotive and communications industry.

Mr. Ochosky holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Saskatchewan. In 2003, Mr. Ochosky also received his Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) designation from the Forum of International Trade Training (FITT), whom also awarded him with the “2003 Student of the Year Award” in recognition of his scholastic achievements.


Donald Olsen, CITP

My involvement in International Trade through various mediums consists of more than fifteen years experience and is related directly with Canadian Exporters, Foreign Governments, State-Owned Agencies and Private Sector Buyers by providing contracting, contract management and risk management services related to the sale of goods and services in international markets. The work involves providing the structuring and the negotiation of projects in a variety of sectors and markets, evaluating the needs for and the arrangement of Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, Bid and Performance Bond and other forms of security and finally the negotiation of major contracts in foreign countries to ensure maximum benefit to Canadian Industry, the exporter, and the customer government with minimum risk.


Saeed Omar Ali, CITP

Mr. Omar is the Managing Director of APTC, an export management firm specializing in exporting to Africa and the Middle East. Saeed is also the Senior Vice-President and Area Director of Ontario Association of Trading Houses (OATH). OATH is a private, non-profit organization that represents Trading Houses involved in export and import of goods and services. As a member of OATH’s trade development team, Saeed assists OATH’s member companies expand their export promotion activities into Africa and Middle East markets. He also coordinates trade missions, representing members in export markets, and promotes the business interests of the association’s members in the international marketplace.


Ken Osso, CITP

Working at A&A Contract Customs Brokers Ltd., Ken is involved in international freight transportation as a third party supplier.  The work involves offering clients international freight forwarding, cross border shipping and warehousing solutions.  Previous to this Ken owned and operated a small freight consolidation company, speciallizing in servicing the Baltic States.


Jeanette Jian Ou, CITP

Jeanette has been working in the field of international trade for more than 10 years. She began her career in export sale in China in 1993 and successfully built a stable market in Europe selling China-made shoes and backpacks. She worked for a Vancouver-based international trading company for the past three years, where she was responsible for importing premium gifts as well as developing Canada and US markets. At present, she is running her own company, In-Touch Enterprises Ltd., focusing on import/export business between North America and China. She received her CITP in 2006.


Tim Owens, CITP

Tim Owens is the International Services Manager with Concentra Financial. He is responsible for the development and relationship management of foreign exchange and trade finance services.

Before joining Concentra, Mr. Owens spent several years with the Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership´s Market Intelligence group, including one year as the Acting Director, Market Intelligence. He has also served with Tourism Saskatchewan as Manager of Special Projects.

Mr. Owens has instructed FITT´s International Trade Research module and has delivered seminars on international trade topics to several organizations, including the Canada Export Centre, University of Saskatchewan, and the Growing Locally Succeeding Globally Conference.

Mr. Owens earned a Bachelor of Administration Degree from the University of Regina in 1998 and CITP designation in 2003. He is currently completing his MBA in International Management from the University of London.
