James Rasmussen, CITP

Mr. Rasmussen is the President of Quicksilver Manufacturing Ltd. Established in 1973, Quicksilver Manufacturing specializes in the manufacturing of composite tanks for the transportation of liquids. These tanks are marketed under the NoCorode® name. The company is currently in the process of expanding abroad through the research, marketing, sale, and negotiation of technology transfer agreements for its unique product. Some product has been exported to the United States. Quicksilver Manufacturing has plants in Camrose and Strome, Alberta.


Barrie Reid, CITP

Mr. Reid teaches in the International Business Program at the Nova Scotia Community College, Truro, NS. This is a three year advanced diploma program. He is also an active International Business consultant. Mr. Reid received his CITP designation in April 2005.

 


Nathan Rhodes, CITP

 

As Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership’s Manufacturing Sector Market Intelligence Specialist, Nathan draws on his diverse background while working with STEP’s manufacturing exporters. Since joining STEP, Nathan has worked with several satisfied exporters to provide timely market intelligence custom-tailored to their international needs.

Prior to joining STEP, Nathan gained valuable experience working in several industries, including commercial real estate market research, engineering design and research, financial services, information technology services, and website design. Born and raised in rural Saskatchewan, Nathan is able to leverage his agricultural background to the benefit of STEP’s members. In 2008, Nathan attained a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan with a minor in International Business and places high value in continual professional development.


Luc Rivard, CITP

Mr. Rivard is a Senior Advisor in International Business Development with the Canadian School of Public Service. Mr. Rivard manages all aspects of projects, such as marketing, the negotiation and development of partnerships, and project management. He is also responsible for securing the necessary funding to undertake the projects from agencies like the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the World Bank, and the Regional Development Banks.


Claude Rivet, CITP / FIBP

As Eastern-Ontario Manager for the Rural Economic Development Division of OMAFRA, Mr. Rivet manages a team of twelve consultants in the implementation of rural economic development initiatives in a variety of sectors and fields such as: municipal policies, community development, strategic planning, tourism, business consulting, project management and international trades. Prior to his current employment he occupied for a period of five years the position of International Trade Development Officer for Eastern Ontario where he received his CITP from FITT in 2004. Through his own corporation, he also continues, in his spare time, to provide international trade advice and expertise like: market analysis and penetration information, trade show selection and strategies, contract negotiations and coaches on many other international trade specialized practices.


 Alyssa Robert, CITP

Alyssa Robert is currently working as an Export Compliance Professional for IBM Canada. Alyssa is responsible for ensuring exports leaving from IBM locations across Canada are compliant and in accordance with various regulations. She has worked at IBM for 9 years, and more specifically in the International Trade and Compliance arena for 6 years. Some of her responsibilities include facilitating new business role-outs, providing education to business units, working with customs and brokers worldwide as well as participation in various international assignments.


 Wayne Robinson, CITP

Mr. Robinson designs, develops, and institutes the marketing strategy for The Estey Centre - a new independent, economic think tank that deals with issues related to international trade, trade policy, law, and economics. Mr. Robinson has over thirty years experience in international business development, most of it with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Among other postings in Canada, Mr. Robinson served on the trade staff in Delhi, Bonn, and Minneapolis. Mr. Robinson completed an executive MBA at Concordia University in Montreal. In addition to his duties at The Estey Centre, he lectures in International Business at the University of Saskatchewan.

 


Sergio Rodriguez, CITP/FIBP

 

Mr. Rodriguez is an experienced professional in marketing, international business education, trade and new business development has experience in a variety of sectors, both public and private. He brings a potent blend of creativity, knowledge and energy to his professional endeavors. Sergio has benefited from an international education: Political Science and International Affairs B.A at Saint Francis Xavier University in Colombia; and Business Administration – International Business at Algonquin College in Canada.  He has worked in three countries: Canada, Colombia, and the United States, where he was an assistant manager of a firm specializing in imports from Latin America. His areas of expertise are: market research, market entry strategies, international marketing, negotiation, business education, and cross cultural business practices.
