International Trade Human Resources Sector Study: Pre-Assessment
Human Resources: A Vital Driver of Canadian International Trade Capacity and Capability
With the support of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC), we performed a pre-assessment of the current human resource challenges facing Canadian businesses engaged in international trade. The purpose of this pre-assessment was to determine if there was a need to undertake a comprehensive human resource study of international trade, as well as to:
- define the international sector,
- define the labour force engaged in international trade,
- identify the trends that are impacting international trade, and
- determine gaps in human resource-related knowledge and determine the scope of future research needs.
This pre-assessment was the first of its kind in Canada—and as far as we know in the world—and we’ve since begun our full Sector Study.
Access the findings from the pre-assessment now, and pre-register to receive the full Sector Study report scheduled for release at the end of March, 2013.
