On June 2–3, 2010, delegates of FITT’s 13th National Conference connected for two lively days of networking and professional development with a diverse group of representatives from the global trade community: “I was very impressed with the high quality of individuals that are connected with FITT and left the conference feeling very positive about being a member,” noted Gordon Scheel, CITP. Conference networking opportunities also enabled community members to connect, engage and expand their own business opportunities
: “I did not expect to find opportunities for my oil and gas Service Company at the conference, but that is exactly what happened and in and of itself made the trip worthwhile. That I also found opportunities for my own training and consulting business was also a pleasant surprise and an added bonus,” commented Raymond Joyce, CITP.
FITT was pleased to host a medley of expert speakers spanning topics from recession recovery, to social media marketing. Highlights included keynote addresses from the Honourable Gerald Keddy, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade and Member of Parliament for South Shore-St. Margaret’s; Peter Hall, Vice-President and Chief Economist, Export Development Canada; and Shane Gibson, President (North America), Knowledge Brokers International Systems Ltd. To each speaker and contributor, thank you! Your efforts were invaluable to the success of our event.
On behalf of everyone at FITT, thank-you to all who participated—we are so pleased to hear that the event was both engaging and professionally beneficial! Congratulations to Gary Glatter from St. Clair College and Tahany Abuhaimed from eConcordia who are the conference evaluation winners—each receiving an iPod shuffle. Great thanks are also owed to the conference organizers, partners, and all helpers for the hard work that was put in to make this year’s conference such a success.
Congratulations to the 2009-2010 CITPs!
